I love facial acupuncture and I firmly believe that regular treatments can help prevent ageing and enhance the whole bodies health and wellbeing.
I have studied facial acupuncture in New York under Virginia Doran and recently studied cutting edge Korean INNO TECH cosmetic acupuncture. I have also studied Gua sha and Tui na specialist Chinese facial massage techniques. I use a combination of these facial techniques alongside Chinese medicine theory (TCM) to treat skin conditions and maintain youth and vitality.
Benefits of Facial Acupuncture-
- Promotes collagen (the protein that keeps skin looking young and taut) production. Acupuncture stimulate the skin’s dermis and meridian points, increasing blood circulation and cell rejuvenation. The thin needles within wrinkles and lines cause micro trauma which stimulates elastin and collagen production. As collagen production declines as we age, regular facial revitalisation can promote its production improving the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles and preventing new ones forming.
- Improves complexion. Acupuncture & massage improves blood and energy (qi) flow to the many tense muscles of the face and restores vitality to the skin. The complexion is enhanced by increasing the flow of blood and lymph.
- Lifting firming and toning- Gua sha, a Chinese massage tool that is used for lymphatic drainage, reduces puffiness. In combination with acupuncture it Improves the overall elasticity of the skin and can create a lifting effect to sagging facial muscles.
- Ultimate Relaxation The combination of Tui na, Gua Sha Chinese massage techniques & acupuncture promotes deep relaxation and rejuvenation to restore youthful vitality.
-Improves general health Facial acupuncture is more than just a cosmetic procedure it helps the whole body look and feel younger, internal health is reflected on your face. Facial Acupuncture is a dual treatment – it is a standard acupuncture session plus facial session. Body points are needled to correct any health issues, this is how issues such as acne, hormone imbalances & factors that contribute to the ageing process are addressed.
After your consultation, hair thin needles are inserted into the face, hands, and legs along meridians of energy. Afterwards the ancient art of Gua Sha is applied with an organic facial oil to uplift the skin and aid lymphatic drainage. Finally a blissful chinese Tui na massage is performed to unblock tension and promote complete relaxation of the facial muscles. I will formulate a personalised treatment plan and you will be given dietary and chinese herbal advice to maintain results, you may also have a specially blended chinese herbal powder to take, if desired.
Facial Acupuncture is a great option for individuals who want a natural approach to looking younger while improving their overall health. Compared to cosmetic procedures, It is safe, natural, effective and cheaper alternative. Appearance changes are natural & not as drastic or sudden as surgical procedures, It is a great choice for those who need to avoid recovery time and prefer a natural look.
